Each fall Minnesota’s orchards and corn mazes seem to call us out into the brisk, clear air. This is not a bad thing.

18th Annual Great Scarecrow Festival – Emma Krumbee’s AmericInn

Emma Krumbee’s 100+ unique, handcrafted scarecrows are a sight for fall eyes. Since 1984, the scarecrow display has been turning heads and the good old country fun is the ultimate in rural festivities. The little ones quickly become footloose and fancy-free as they wander about the orchard "scarecrow gazing."
Hiawatha Apple Blossom Drive Scenic Byway

An officially designated Minnesota Scenic Byway, this 17 mile driving route follows County Highway 29. Accessible from the towns of La Crescent, Dakota and Nodine, this loop provides spectacular views from bluff tops along the Mississippi River Valley in southeast Minnesota. Apple orchards add a special character to the scenery and many varieties of Minnesota apples are available.
